Terms & Conditions
General Release of All Claims

By this agreement, I consider my voluntary participation in the New England Intercollegiate Vietnamese Student Association (henceforth “NEIVSA”) 8th Annual Vietnamese Empowerment Summit (henceforth “VES”) hereby waive NEIVSA and its officers, officials, board of directors, representatives, staff, volunteers, students, speakers, guests, sponsors, affiliates, and assigns from any and all liability for damage to or loss of personal property/money, sickness or injury from any source, legal entanglements, imprisonment, or death, which might occur while participating in the VES. I further understand that NEIVSA does not provide medical coverage for me, and I will be responsible for any medical costs I incur as a result of my participation. I will assume FULL RESPONSIBILITY for any loss or property damage, that may be sustained by me. I will assume any risk, and take full responsibility of any and all claims associated with VES activities, and events organized by NEIVSA.

Conduct Expectations & Policies

Attendees have a great opportunity to network and make long-lasting relationships while being a part of an event that serves the community. NEIVSA wants attendees to not only leave empowered but also have the best experience possible. A few things our organization expects of attendees:

  • Timeliness – Please show up on time to scheduled events!

  • Attendance – We encourage you to attend all VES programming and bonding activities. Our staff put in a tremendous amount of work to make this VES happen, and we want all of you to experience it. The schedule is packed all 3 days, so be sure to rest and be ready to participate in all VES activities.

  • Respect – Be respectful to one another, including VES staff, other VES attendees, and the property we are in.

  • Common courtesy – Be courteous, and keep appropriate behavior.

  • Safe Space – No harmful behavior, we are here to express our opinions and ideas. Please treat this entire weekend as a “safe space.”

  • Safety – always update peers, friends, and family leaders with your location! Ask a staff member or NEIVSA representative if you need assistance.

Refund Policy

There are NO REFUNDS. All registration sales are final. However, you are allowed to transfer a ticket to another person if you can no longer attend. The last date for requesting transferals of registration is February 28th, 2022

Harassment, Assault, & Sexual Misconduct

The New England Intercollegiate Vietnamese Student Association has a zero-tolerance policy for any harassment, assault, or sexual misconduct. Those who commit any form or act of sexual misconduct will be immediately removed from VES, and all permissions will be revoked. Individuals will no longer have the privilege to attend future NEIVSA events and initiatives or its External and Regional partners’ initiatives and projects. An investigation will be held, an incident report will be filed, and the proper due process will be conducted.

Alcohol Consumption & Drug Usage

The New England Intercollegiate Vietnamese Student Association does not condone underage drinking or usage of illegal drugs. During the entire VES, attendees are PROHIBITED from consuming or partaking in activities that use illegal drugs/substances. Staff will not tolerate drug paraphernalia. Alcohol consumption is PROHIBITED during official programming. If caught violating the above-stated policies, consequences may include the following:

  • Removal and ban from scheduled events

  • Inability to participate in future NEIVSA events

  • Regional organization, legal guardian, and VSA affiliation made aware of the transgression

Publicity and Photo Release

Additionally, I irrevocably consent and authorize NEIVSA to use the images of my appearance that NEIVSA and its authorized agents, staff, and assignees have taken while attending VES in a promotional video, film, photograph, or any other media-related purposes free of compensation of any type. I further acknowledge that VES is the owner of all rights in and to media in which I appear and give VES the right to produce or distribute in any such manner as they deem fit.

I AM OVER 18 YEARS OF AGE AND HAVE READ THIS GENERAL RELEASE OF ALL CLAIMS AGREEMENT. I FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS AND UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY ACCEPTING THEM. I ACKNOWLEDGE MY AGREEMENT IS MADE FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT, ASSURANCE, OR GUARANTEE, ORAL OR WRITTEN, BEING MADE TO ME. BY SIGNING, I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I AM PERFORMING A COMPLETE AND UNCONDITIONAL RELEASE OF ALL LIABILITY TO THE GREATEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW.

THIS WAIVER IS FOR PARTICIPANTS AGE 18 AND OVER. IF YOU ARE UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE, YOUR PARENT/GUARDIAN MUST ALSO FILL OUT A MINOR WAIVER FORM AND SUBMIT IT TO US PRIOR TO THE START OF THE CONFERENCE.
